Threshold Committee election nominations – first epoch

If its not too late, I would be happy to serve as a member of the committee if needed.

I’ve been a member of the IG committee for multiple years now, along with hosting infrastructure for the DAO such as a beta staker node and community monitoring services.

Hopefully those skills combined with the relationships I have built inside and out of threshold would be useful to the new Threshold Committee.

I’m honored to be nominated by East, Vict0r, and Wailoaloa to serve on the first Threshold Committee.

I’m open to contributing in either a paid or volunteer seat and would be proud to support the DAO through this next phase of governance.

Over the past three years, I’ve served in several roles that have given me a comprehensive view of how the DAO operates: Threshold Council Member, Marketing Guild Committee Member, Threshold DAO Marketing Lead, and long-time Community Delegate. I’ve built a reputation for being dependable, thoughtful, and strategic, and have helped keep the DAO coordinated during moments of transition, including the beta operator expansion.

One area of the new Committee’s responsibilities that I’ve historically paid especially close attention to is Protocol & Smart Contract Oversight. I understand the importance of managing our upgradeable contracts carefully and transparently, and I’ve consistently prioritized security, process, and community awareness around product changes. If elected, I’ll remain deeply committed to this responsibility.

I also believe that tBTC will become the most trusted and widely used BTC bridge across Ethereum and L2s. It’s the most reliable permissionless way to move native BTC into and out of Ethereum and beyond. The Committee plays a vital role in supporting that vision by securing the infrastructure behind it, ensuring resources are aligned and responsibly managed, and ensuring the DAO is represented with credibility across ecosystems.

If elected, I’ll continue to support responsible resource allocation, protocol safety, operational alignment, and a culture of transparency, accountability, and long-term thinking.

Thank you again to my nominators and to the Threshold community for the continued opportunity to serve. :purple_heart: MrsThreshold

Thanks for the nomination, @Eastban. I’ve greatly enjoyed our work together on the Treasury Committee the past two years and appreciate your willingness to partner on tackling challenging issues.

It’s fantastic to see so many excellent nominations here, including the newer faces, and I’d like to add my name and experience to the list for one of the 6 compensated seats.

My background in Web3 & Threshold

My career includes 25+ years leading product, business development, marketing and operations efforts, from smaller companies (including several startups) to American Express to Consensys, I’m an angel investor in a number of Web3 companies and have been a mentor for the Tachyon Web3 accelerator.

I’ve been involved with Threshold since inception, having been an advisor to Keep starting in 2017 and an active tBTC staker since inception in 2020 (and my entire stake continues in support of TACo’s customers – and the product and team’s exciting future). I co-founded the Marketing Guild with @MrsNuBooty and led several iterations to improve the structure. In addition to serving a year on the Council, I’ve been a very active member of the Treasury Committee since November 2022 and also served for more than a year on the Integrations Committee.

I strongly supported the recent TIPs 92, 98, and 100, helped forge consensus around the staking rewards changes and worked with the DAO restructure group to support the transition to tLabs and a greatly reduced but sufficient DAO infrastructure (TIP-103). I’ve also authored numerous TIPs and helped nearly all through governance process the last 2 years.

What I can contribute to Threshold Committee

With fewer DAO roles and hours, a single committee, and combining much of the former treasury committee plus the Council’s responsibilities, it’s more important than ever that the 6 compensated committee members we elect are experienced, committed to Threshold, willing and able to lead – not sit back and allow others to carry the committee forward.

I feel so strongly about this that I advocated for it in the restructure process, wrote this doc on Committee expectations and aligned it with the workgroup, adding this enforcement provision we’ve lacked in the past:

“To ensure adherence to these commitments, the Project Manager will take attendance at weekly Committee meetings and monitor participation in multisig signing, committee polls and other duties. If a member exceeds normal absences or is otherwise not carrying their weight on the Committee, another member or the Project Manager is obligated to call a vote of the other remembers on whether to remove.”

In terms of subject areas I’ve led or contributed to the past few years (and would propose to continue, if elected): I worked with DAO counsel to set up Threshold Foundation and have be the day-to-day liaison with our director in the Cayman Islands (as well as counsel). I believe that effective protocol and DAO governance is an art and takes work to ensure all voices and perspectives are heard and tokenholders have the information they need to make informed decisions. I’ve also worked on other legal and regulatory matters, as well as working with many of our service providers and providing oversight and recommendations to the Treasury Committee.

I’m very excited to continue working with the Threshold contributors and community as we enter this new era boldly.

Additional Note: I would be honored to accept a paid or volunteer position on the Threshold Committee if elected.

I have been a committed member of the Threshold Marketing Guild and the Threshold Council and I echo Johns comment in being fully committed to participating in a council seat and it’s responsibilities.

I am typically on US West Coast (PST), and currently work in a full time web3 role. My schedule is very flexible and can easily commit to weekly, quarterly, and special meetings, as well as timely responses to singing requests.

Hey all, I just wanted to disclose that I have signed on with tLabs as BD Lead. I believe my position at tLabs will further empower me to provide value to the Committee, but obviously I would need to abstain from tLabs related decisions.

From discussion with other nominees, I do not believe there is any conflict of interest between my tLabs role and the Threshold Committee, however I wanted to make this disclosure regardless.

Following the week of nominations and our “meet and greet” call with candidates on April 2nd, we now commence the voting for our inaugural Threshold Committee, (call recording is here).

Here’s how this election will work, given the prescription in TIP-103 for 6 paid Committee seats and 3 unpaid volunteer seats. After the voting concludes, candidates with the highest vote weight will be offered the 9 seats on the Threshold Committee, but their seat type (paid or volunteer) will be determined by both vote weigh and candidate preference.

The candidates will be considered in order of highest vote weight received. Each will be assigned a paid seat if:
• They stated a willingness to serve in a paid role and
• At least one of the 6 paid seats remains unfilled

Once all 6 paid seats are filled, the remaining elected candidates who have indicated they are open to serving as volunteers will be assigned the 3 volunteer seats based on highest vote weight.

In other words, if a candidate is unable to serve as a volunteer and no paid seats remain, they will not be seated, and the next eligible candidate on the list will be offered the volunteer seat.

:spiral_calendar: Voting is open for 7 days — please don’t wait until the last minute!

Due to a misconfiguration with Snapshot, some T tokens were unable to participate in voting. As a result, the Committee Elections Snapshot has been pulled down. A new Snapshot will be created and shared as soon as the configuration has been corrected. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
