GP-028 Threshold Marketing Guild Nominations Election - Epoch 4, 2023

Hello Threshold community!

Following the procedure stated in GP-11 / TIP-031 regulating the Guild Committee Elections and Nominations, we open the nominations for the elections of the Marketing Guild Committee Members.

In this 4th epoch we vote 4 seats. These 4 seats correspond to the members that were elected in August 2022 elections . For a complete review of the elections timelines, number of seats and community members elected, see this Notion space.

The seats we are voting are currently held by community members:

We encourage everyone to participate and provide their nominations, any DAO member can be nominated for an upcoming guild committee seat, including self-nominations. Bear in mind that a person who is nominated by another member must confirm their intent to be a candidate.

Focus of our Marketing Guild
The Threshold Marketing Guild is responsible for general Threshold marketing across services, growing our network of contributors, onboarding new members to the Threshold DAO, educating people about the Threshold’s value, services and use cases, and more.

Please note that, although the original mission of the TMG is stated above, this guild’s committee has been restructured and now the committee members hold the responsibilities stated in this post.

I nominate John, Ashley, Ryan and Will to the Marketing Guild.

As incumbents and long time contributors they have demonstrated, individually, and as a team, the ability to tackle tough OKRs and slay the surprises that sneak up.

In addition, the Marketing Guild has recently reshuffled and reorganized through TIP 49. It is my view that it’s crucial we continue to have continuity for the foreseeable future. This gives the thoughtful decentralized leadership a chance to flourish; you could say testnet has some bugs, but is going ok!

Going further, with the upcoming launches in flight, and planning for ETHNY well under way, I believe it is critical to maintain the current lineup.

I posit, that following this vote, we put a concerted effort toward expanding contributor recruitment efforts and the onboarding process thereafter. As of now, there are irreplaceable elements on our teams, and we must diversify and delegate.

Thank you for the nomination, @Colbosky!

I’m eager to continue contributing to the Marketing Guild Committee if elected, recognizing the importance of our roles and the unique opportunities and challenges decentralized coordination presents. Excited for tomorrow’s meet & greet and welcoming new candidates for all guilds!

I’d like to nominate @JCELENA for a position in the MG.

We have known him for a while as he has contributed to the DAO as translator for our blog and social media. He is responsive, hard working and when commissioned with a task, he delivers before you can close the chat window with him, so that’s an attitude and a skillset we can use in our DAO

Thanks for the nomination!!! As mentioned, I have helped with some blog translations for the DAO and it will be an honor to participate in more marketing and communication related tasks. I consider myself a team player and a man of his word. Thanks again for the nomination!!!

I would like to nominate myself for a position on the MG.

Threshold is doing some exciting things and I want to get involved. I’ve been a spectator across the different guilds for the past few months and would like to start contributing. I’ve spoken with a few folks across Threshold (@Will @JohnPackel) directly, chat or in the crypto garden.

I’ve worked at two different crypto companies (FX/Crypto Exchange & Crypto Credit Scores via ZK Proofs) as a marketing lead that also helped out on the product side. I’d be excited to join the MG to help contribute and help grow tBTC, thUSD and TACo.
