GP-038 Threshold Integrations Guild Nominations Election, Epoch 6, 2024

Hello Threshold community!

Following the procedure stated in GP-11 / TIP-031 regulating the Guild Committee Elections and Nominations, we open the nominations for the elections of the Integrations Guild Committee Members.

In this 6th epoch we vote 3 seats. These 3 seats correspond to the members that were elected in August 2023 elections , i.e., @East, @John Packel and @Vict0r . For a complete review of the elections timelines, number of seats and community members elected, see this Notion space.

The IG seats are currently held by community members:

We encourage everyone to participate and provide their nominations, any DAO member can be nominated for an upcoming guild committee seat, including self-nominations. Bear in mind that a person who is nominated by another member must confirm their intent to be a candidate.

Focus of our Integrations Guild

The core mission of the Threshold Integrations Guild is to build successful, synergistic and long-lasting relationships with other protocols, DAOs and external organizations. The TIG has recently extended their responsibilities and now owns the oversight of different DAO-led initiatives and projects such as the bug bounty, as well as the oversight of the functions of the different DAO contractors.

Timeline for the Elections

  1. July 29th - August 12th - Nomination period, where you can nominate yourself or nominate another member of the community by replying to this forum post.
  2. August 12th, 3pm ET - Community Call to meet our nominees. We have traditionally held a call to meet our nominees and allow them to introduce themselves to the community and explain why they are running for our guilds. This time, we will make use of this allotted time in the case we have new candidates participating.
  3. August 12th - August 18th - Snapshot vote.
  4. August 19th - August 31st - Transition period: onboarding and multisig swaps.
  5. September 1st, 2024 - The new term starts for the elected members, which will serve 1-year term: September 1st 2024 - August 31st 2025.

What do I need to become a Threshold Network Guild Committee Member?

Becoming a committee member would be easy and smooth, the elections of the guilds are staggered, thus you will have a good onboarding experience led by your peers. To be part of our guilds, we request our members to own a hardware wallet. While prior knowledge and experience with multisigs on mainnet, L2’s, and Solana/Base networks are beneficial, they are not mandatory.

If you have any questions join us on Discord and ask away!

The IG team truly is an amazing group of individuals. I have massive respect for @Eastban , @Vict0r , and @JohnPackel. I hope each of them would be willing to continue serving on the committee and would like to formally nominate them to stay.

I second that – hoping @Vict0r @JohnPackel and @Eastban accept nominations again. I’d also like to encourage new members to throw their hat in the ring.

Thanks, @the_egg1 & @shoegazer69. I am happy to accept (and hope @Vict0r and @Eastban will also) and would be honored to continue if elected.

I also echo the encouragement for community members to nominate themselves or others who would be beneficial.

Thank you @the_egg, @shoegazer69, and @JohnPackel I am thrilled to accept. It has been a pleasure working alongside each of you, and while we have come a long way, it feels like we are just getting started. I also hope @Eastban will accept his nomination. I would be honored to serve another term if elected.

Hi Threshold DAO frens,

I am excited to submit my nomination for the Integrations Guild Committee.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Bakhrom. I’ve been following NuCypher since 2008. I participated in WorkLock staking on Coinlist, and since then, I’ve been staking Nu tokens. I converted them into T tokens once NuCypher and Keep merged into one project.

In 2022, I believe ThresholdDAO was launched. I wanted to apply to join, but I was so busy with other projects and didn’t have any free time.

Now, I have some free time and would love to contribute to Threshold DAO.

My background and experience:

  1. In 2017, I created an ICO due diligence team. We analyzed blockchain projects and market opportunities, created a due diligence model, and invested in 50+ top projects(Chainlink, Ankr, Bluzelle, Filecoin and etc) as a pool of investors.
  2. In 2017, I developed a P2P non-custodial exchange on Ethereum.
  3. Since 2021, I have worked as a DeFi Strategist and Consultant in a syndicate. I have consulted DeFi analysts on portfolio management, due diligence, and risk assessment. I developed high-yield strategies, resulting in a portfolio ROI of 157% over two years.
  4. I have participated in Twitter spaces as a speaker talking about Web3. I attended Token2049 and DevConnect and spoke on stages.
  5. I am an early adopter and expert in DeFi tools like Uniswap, Curve, Balancer, Pendle, Aura Finance, and the EigenLayer ecosystem. I earned 183% on restaking in 4 months.
  6. Since 2022, I have been a founding team member of Admeal, a startup that is a digital collectibles marketplace with DeFi yield for CPG brands and consumers.
  7. I have contributed to Rootstock and Stacks and am now contributing to ReFi DAO.

Before coming to Web3, I worked as an IT infrastructure manager in investment banks Deutsche Bank, VTB Capital, and Renaissance Capital. Later, I helped launch a venture studio, and within 1.5 years, we tested 10 ideas and achieved $440K ARR.

How I can contribute to ThresholdDAO as a part of the Integrations Guild Committee:

  • Strategic Integrations: Using my due diligence and strategic investment experience, I can help evaluate and prioritize potential integrations with other protocols, DAOs, and external organizations to ensure alignment with ThresholdDAO’s strategic goals.
  • DeFi Optimization: By applying my expertise in DeFi tools and high-yield strategies, I can develop and implement effective strategies for tBTC and thUSD to enhance their adoption and liquidity across multiple DeFi subsectors.
  • Partnership Development: Utilizing my extensive network with leading Web3 projects and DAOs, I can facilitate collaborations and partnerships that drive adoption and use cases for ThresholdDAO’s applications and technologies.
  • Process Improvement: Creating streamlined processes for protocols interested in integrating tBTC and other Threshold products, I can continuously assess and improve the integration process to make it more efficient and user-friendly.

The Integrations Guild Committee consists of strong and experienced experts. I believe that if I join, I can make the Integrations Guild Committee even stronger, so that together we can grow Threshold DAO products faster.

I see many opportunities for Threshold product growth. Let’s skyrocket together.

Cheers,
Bakhrom.

Hello again, Threshold Community,

I am excited to nominate myself for a seat on the Integrations Guild Committee. As a newly elected member of the thUSD Steering Committee, I have actively contributed to the Threshold DAO, focusing on integrations, research, and strengthening DAO-to-DAO relationships. So far I’ve collaborated closely with members of the DAO and combined efforts to drive forward successful integrations and I believe all our complementary skills joined togheter will continue to be pivotal in expanding our network’s reach.

I bring a robust skill set to the table, including expertise in networking, escalations and solution finding—critical abilities honed over a decade as a telecoms engineer. Additionally, I am developing my analytical capabilities with a focus on data science. I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in data sciences, which will equip me to contribute even more effectively as a data scientist within the DAO over the coming year.

My dedication to integrating thUSD and tBTC across DeFi is driven by a relentless passion to see the Threshold Network succeed. With my extensive knowledge of DeFi, and my commitment to learning and growth, I am ready to dedicate more time and effort to advancing our integration efforts, forging strategic partnerships, and contributing to our collective success.

Thank you for your consideration,
Citizen42

Thank you all for the consideration. As one of the founding members of the IG I’m thrilled how much we accomplished in our Guild. It expanded way beyond our initial scope of TBTC integrations to become a complete services hub for the DAO.

I will not accept the nomination for another term though, I feel it’s time to let other people with specific skills and higher availability fill my spot.
